Mardi Gras Parade and Jazz Week 2008

The traditional Mardi Gras Parade winding through the streets of historic downtown Fort Pierce will kick-off the Fort Pierce Jazz & Blues Society’s Jazz Week 2008 on Saturday, February 2.

The parade begins at 2pm; it will conclude at Fort Pierce Community, 600 Indian River Dr. where a huge Mardi Gras Celebration begins at 6pm. Everyone is invited to this free celebration featuring entertainment by Coffee Beans, Matrix, FPJBS Ensemble, and Bobby & the Blisters. It is certain to be a fun-filled day for the whole family!

The Jazz Week 2008 schedule includes a concert by Dave Brubeck, one of the most well-known jazz pianists of all time, 3pm, Sunday, 2/3, at the Sunrise Theatre, daily free Brown Bag Lunch Concerts by the library in downtown Fort Pierce, plus concerts featuring Hazel Miller, Nicole Henry, The Coffee Beans, and the week concludes on Saturday, 2/9, with Tina Marsh and the Creative Opportunity Orchestra in concert at the Emerson Center, 1590 27th Ave. in Vero Beach.
